Lead Vocals—–Singer/Songwriter Mason appeared frequently as a guest vocalist for one of Southern California’s country music mainstays, . With his own band, he has shared the bill with Grammy nominee Tim Murphy. While Mason’s vocal approach is uniquely his own, the influences of his idols can be heard in a continuing tribute that blends naturally with his own unique vision of country music.
Pedal Steel, lap steel, guitar—- A pedal steel guitar player from Santa Barbara, CA., Kevin has played with numerous country and folk bands in the greater Los Angeles area, most notably Jessica Erin (who had a song featured on the TV show “Friday Night Lights”) and Still Watters Run Deep. Kevin has played many different venues and events in California including The Hotel Cafe, The Mint, the Dakota Lounge, and the 2011 Holtville Rib Cookoff. Kevin rocks the pedal steel and lap steel, and brings a distinctive youthful, edgy style to Country Nation.
Lead guitar, acoustic guitars-Veteran session guitarist Ricky Katz has been part of the L.A. music scene for most of his life. First performing at the age of eleven, Ricky’s work has been heard on television shows Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley, as well as daytime dramas such as the long-running, The Young and the Restless. Having performed over the years in the Los Angeles area at famous musical venues including The Roxy and The Troubadour, Ricky has also played at live events for The Academy of Motion Pictures, Warner Bros. Records and Sony Pictures among many others. He has performed in front of such legendary show business figures as Johnny Carson, Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra as well as U.S. presidents Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton.
Bass Guitar/Vocals— Bob was born and raised in NE Pennsylvania, where as a member of Mutt-Lee, he extensively toured the East Coast opening for Peter Frampton, Electric Light Orchestra, Alice Cooper, FogHat and many others. Moving to LA, Bob spent a few years with the seminal Hollywood New-wave band, Sway. During the last 25 years Bob has played and recorded with many popular bands….Steve Perry, Marlin, Beachy & the Beachnuts, WideLoad and the Hot tubs, Stanley T and the Broken Arrows, to name a few. Bob brings a solid bass playing style to Country Nation, and is part of the solid backbone on which the band is built.
Drums & Percussion-Mike has been performing professionally for over 30 Years. He enjoys playing live, doing recording sessions, and teaching. Some highlights of his career include performing with members of "The Knack" in a full length feature film entitled: I Crave Rock 'N' Roll, recording and touring with Giant Records (Warner Brothers) act "P.O.L.", and touring throughout U.S. and overseas with "Hotel California" a tribute to the Eagles. As a member of Country Nation, Mike has found the perfect home to compliment his love for playing Country & Rock music.
Keyboards, vocals-Thom began playing organ at age 14. He added piano in college, and played piano in the Jazz Ensemble at SUNY Fredonia, which won the National Championship for Best Jazz Ensemble.. He toured nationally with a show band for 4 years, followed by several years of playing country honky tonks in the Midwest before returning to the Institute of Audio Research in NYC to pursue his interest in recording and producing. He has played professionally for many years, in support of various acts as diverse as Chubby Checker, The Platters, Charlie Daniels, to jazz great Tom Scott, and Al Jarreau—he has a credit on the High Times album. Thom has played in LA for quite a while, whether it’s in support of jazz greats like Brandon Fields and John Patitucci, or a local country band, his abilities and love for the keyboard make him a preferred partner for many of the area bands. Country Nation represents his love for country music combined with a desire to deliver an audience experience second to none.
Vocalist-Kaitlyn Weathers is a young, beachy country pop singer songwriter from Murrieta in Southern California. On stage she is entirely in the moment with her emotionally charged vocals, playful dance moves, and adorable style. She combines the sweetness, honesty, and sass of country music with her own laid back, feel good, California vibe. A dancer who later found a passion for singing, Kaitlyn has performed in Nashville and Las Vegas, as well as numerous California wineries and charity events. In her trips to Tennessee, she competed in a national competition called NACMAI, where she won multiple awards. Two of her original songs were recently recognized at OC Hit Factory songwriter showcases. In addition to her own songs, Kaitlyn covers songs by a variety of artists including Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves. "Must be country!"
